Palu (ANTARA) – Sekolah di Kota Parigi, ibu kota Kabupaten Parigi Moutong, Sulawesi Tengah (Sulteng), terpaksa memulangkan siswa-siswi mereka sebagai bentuk mitigasi imbas dari gempa magnitudo 5,0 yang dirasakan di kabupaten itu.

"Benar, sekolah memulangkan siswa-siswi, kami telah menginstruksikan sekolah untuk meniadakan kegiatan belajar mengajar," kata Pelaksana tugas (Plt) Kepala Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Disdikbud) Parigi Moutong Sunarti di Parigi, Rabu.

Menurut laporan Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) gempa magnitudo 5,0 terjadi pada (Rabu 3/9) pukul 06:53 WIB atau pukul 07:53 WITA dengan lokasi koordinat 0,88 derajat Lintang Selatan (LS) dan 120,28 derajat Bujur Timur (BT) atau 44 kilometer timur laut Palu, Sulteng, dengan kedalaman 10 kilometer.

Menanggapi itu, Pemkab Parigi Moutong langsung mengambil langkah konkret dengan memulangkan siswa-siswi SD dan SMP saat proses belajar mengajar sedang berlangsung.

"Langkah ini juga bagian dari upaya mitigasi. Selain itu orang tua murid juga panik dan langsung datang menjemput anak-anak mereka di sekolah, masyarakat juga takut terjadi gempa susulan," ujarnya.

Ia meminta pihak sekolah tetap memperhatikan keselamatan peserta didik, termasuk guru dan pegawai pada masing-masing satuan pendidikan.

Disdikbud menyampaikan kepada orang tua murid atau wali murid tetap tenang dan selalu memperbaharui informasi kegempaan dari pemerintah atau BMKG sebagai instansi berkompeten di bidang kegempaan.

"Tidak perlu panik berlebihan. Informasi kegempaan dapat diakses melalui media sosial resmi BMKG. Pastikan anak-anak selalu dalam pemantauan orang tua," tutur Sunarti.
